Bastien Ducourtioux is a contemporary portrait artist who seeks to expose the personality and emotions that people try to hide from others. Bastien goes on to layer of paint, mixing colors to obtain expressive and deep art work. He mainly paints with acrylic using brushes and knives. Each of his works is inspired by living subjects but all have their own senses and distinctive characteristic.
Each work tries to confront the spectator to face up to his own emotions and perception.
